Annette Bening stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (January 11) and talked all about about her husband Warren Beatty‘s Best Picture envelope mishap at the 2017 Oscars last year when Jimmy was hosting.
“I was at home watching the show with my daughter and when the moment happened, where the wrong envelope was handed to them and everything started to fall apart. It was sort of like a dream,” the 59-year-old actress admitted. “My daughter and I both just started screaming, basically.”
“We were stunned, I thought he handled it incredibly well,” Annette added. “Very quickly, my impulse was to call him right away. He said, ‘I have the envelopes and I’m not giving them to anyone.’ He took the envelopes home but he gave Barry Jenkins his for winning Moonlight.”
