Is it possible to reduce the backlight of the Z72 to safe batteries???

Hello Bargman,

Paul from palmOne here. Yes, it's possible to reduce the screen brightness. If you look at the Graffiti part of your screen (bottom rectangle), you'll see a very small brightness icon in the upper right-hand corner of this gray rectangle. Tap it and the "Adjust Brightness" window will open showing a slider.

Best

Paul,

I'm not sure about Bargman but I would like to know if there is a program that allows better dimming control than the built in settings. The Zire 72 screen is very bright even on the lowest setting. I tried AutoDimmer but it doesn't seem to work too well as it did with my Zire 71. Any ideas of what works with the 72?

Not as far as I know. Even HAL-level native trap to set brightness allows a minimum of 64, naything lowere becomes 161. Looks like a hardware limitation, or a very low-level software limitation.

Sorry toymaker, I can't say as I'm aware of one, either. Perhaps someone may yet add a suggestion to this thread.
