I tried to install few programs in my new palm zire altogether and now I get this Fatal Alert " Memoery Mgr.c, Line: 365, Nullhandle and it gets reset every time it boots, and I can hardly use it. I think I have installed more programs than the memory supported. What to do. Please help

Hello Vipindoc,
Paul from palmOne here. This particular variety of the Fatal Alert error usually results from a minor programming issue within a third-party application. For example, it could occur because a callback function may not have a valid value set, and needs a dummy string allocated for it.
Our recommendation is to delete the application that is causing this particular variety of Fatal Alert. Then, write a quick email to the software's developer or vendor, notifying them of the bug in their software, so that future revisions can take the bug into account.
I'll also refer you to a palmOne Knowledge Library article which may be of help. "Diagnosing problems caused by third party applications" can be seen here (http://www.palmone.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=27908).
Hope that helps.
Best
Paul

Dear Paul. Thanx for the help.
But it doesn't seem to work as the palm will not boot. and I am not able to delete the particular program.
All it does is try to boot up and as soon as it does it goes to fatal alert and reset again this precess continues. I would like to know how to erase the data completely and how to start from the EPROOM/ what keys to be pressed? My old Palm pilo had this option.

To do a hard reset: push the reset area with your stylus and push the power button at the same time and hold the power button until you see the 'Palm" logo. You will have a choice to push the up button to erase your data.
One thing to be careful for is rebuilding your programs through your first hotsync. I had a problem like yours when I first upgraded to a OS 5 device that was caused by a database only meant for OS 4 devices. Before your first Hotsync after the reset, go to your hard drive folder where your palm info is stored (ie C:/Program Files/PalmOne) in your Palm folder find the folder that's your name abbreviated, under that find the folder called Backup and move the files in the Backup folder to a different folder location on your desktop or My Documents. The purpose is to clear out the Backup folder of all the old extra programs and data that would automatically get restored on your first Hotsync. Your Calander, Contacts, Memos, and ToDo's will be fine because they are installed elsewhere. Then you can start to install programs one at a time to troubleshoot the rogue program.
Good luck! ;)

Vinpidoc,
One procedure I can suggest to follow.
After the Zire 72 has been through a soft reset, try tapping the Home button 2 or 3 times in quick succession. My Home button is the upper left button in the graffiti area. It should be yours unless you have changed the defalt preferences. My Zire 72 was having fits when I installed a 3rd party software that the OS5 did not support. However, by using the tapping method, I was able to get the Zire 72 to come up and then try to figure out what program was the issue.
