Hi:

I have a Palm Zire 71 with a totally busted LCD. The LCD shows *NO* image at all and there are many cracks under the glasstop. I believe the motherboard works because I hear beeps when I tap the screen. I also think the glasstop itself is good.

I'd like to replace the LCD, and I found these instructions for taking apart the Zire 71:

http://www.gethightech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=GHT&Category_Code=_zire71_take

Are there any other things I should know before I proceed with this set of directions? I think there's at least one set of instructions that's not clear enough for me around Step 2. Step 2 reads as follows:

"Flip the unit over and slid (sic?) the shell down to expose the camera and 2 screws at the top. "

However, there's no explicit reference to instructions that say take out those screws at the top.

I'd be grateful for any other thoughts, too. I'm also cross-posting with the same subject line.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks! I'm especially grateful for the translated Google page, because I only saw the raw page in its native Japanese.
