Two Questions here
1) My current SD card (a RiData) has just stopped working on my Zire (The handheld will not recognise it when it is inserted. It does however, freeze the handheld for about 5 secs). Prior to this it kept giving read errors on my palm. A Toshiba card was, however, perfectly fine. Does anyone think the card was the problem? Or could it have been somthing to do with my Palm? There were no read errors when copying files to my computer through card export. I am waiting a delivery of a card reader from ebay and when it arrives, I will check whether or not the card can be read.

2) Im planning on getting another sd card for my Zire 72 and am looking at SD Cards from Toshiba and Lexar. These two brands are currently extremely cheap compared to all the other brands. I would like to know which brand would be the best to buy? Would they be the same?

All thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

I'd say it's probably the card. I have a 1 gig cart that works perfectly fine on my Zire72, but my card reader has a heck of a time picking it up.

Personally, I have 3 SD cards -- a 128, 256 and a 1 gig. The 128 and 1 gig are Lexar and I've had no problems with it (except for my reader, which admittedly is an older one) and the 256 is Sandisk. No troubles with any of 'em.

Here is a link to price compare SD Rams: http://dealram.com/prices/30/1GB.html . I purchased a 1 gb PQ1 60x Hi-speed for my Zire 72 and it works fantastic.

Any idea if a Zire 72 would work with the 2GB sd card or the "coming soon" 4GB sd card?

I have read that 2GB SD cards will work with no problems but the 4GB cards have memory restrictions and the Zire 72 will only see 2GB of it. The other 2GB wiil not be used or available on this PDA. The issue is with the PDA not the memory, as far as I know.
