First, there was Hurricane Beryl. It faded to just remnants after entering the Caribbean Saturday. The remnants are now near the Dominican Republic. There’s only a small chance of it redeveloping toward the weekend but by then, it would be off the east coast of the US.

Now there is Chris- a tropical storm soon to become a hurricane. Chris has no immediate threat to land and none to our area. It will meander for the next day, halfway between South Carolina and Bermuda. Tonight or tomorrow, Chris will likely become a hurricane and then begin more of a northeast motion. That motion should keep it away from land. Later in the week, it may brush Nova Scotia and then Newfoundland.
